About 'caffeine energy'|Caffeine in an Energy Drink Can Equal 15 Cokes!!
Jolt, the maker of caffeine packed Jolt Cola, has introduced Jolt Gum. This chewing gum comes in two flavors: spearmint and icymint. The product is offered in foil-backed packaging wrapped in a sturdy sleeve. Each piece has a hard white coating with colored specks indicating the burst of flavor in the gum. Although the gum looks pretty standard and comes packaged like similar products, there is one crucial difference: the ultimate buzz delivered in each piece. According to the packaging and product website, two pieces of gum (one serving) are equal to one cup of coffee. The product is meant to be used like any other gum with an added positive side effect, but after chewing the gum for a few seconds and breaking through the outer layer, the consumer can tuck the caffeinated product in the cheek, just like chewing tobacco. The produced desired effect is a sudden dose of caffeine that will keep the chewer alert. This method is effective for anyone prohibited from chewing gum at work. The intensity of the caffeine is immediately noticeable, even to a regular coffee drinker, when the product is used this way. It is easy to see how the gum could become addictive--after six or seven pieces, the chewer may notice a feeling of emptiness due to the lack of the gum and it's caffeine. An avid coffee drinker can make comparisons: the Jolt Gum certainly offers a faster way for caffeine to take effect, and the 'crash' associated with coffee and soda binges seems less extensive or non-existent with the gum; instead, it feels as though the consumer is downgrading from the effects of the caffeine rather than experiencing an intense and sudden urge to fall right into bed. Jolt Caffeine Energy Gum offers twelve pieces of gum per pack, or the equivalent of six cups of coffee with considerably less trips to the bathroom. The gum also freshens breath and does not stain your teeth. As an added bonus, the spearmint gum's outer color is artfully described as 'Jackson Pollick-ish' by the manufacturer. The Jolt Gum website encourages consumers to purchase gum directly by mail for $16.20 per twelve pack-that's the equivalent of the amount of caffeine in seventy-two cups of coffee. If you care to purchase gum by the pack, it is presently making appearances in convenience stores across the United States. Jolt asserts that its gum is just as safe as coffee or other energy drinks in addition to being more convenient. |
